Instructor, Elyce Amero: "Kasie is such a warm welcoming Mama. She always has a smile on her face, and is just a joy to be around. She gives 100% to every workout, even if that means holding Jase while doing squats! We love that!! I truly enjoy working out next to you Kasie!
Instructor, Angela Bridgford: "Kasie is a beautiful mother and awesome mama in Our Village. She is an inspiration to those in class with her! Sleep deprived or not, she gives 100% of herself to her workouts. We are so blessed to have her at FIT4MOM North OC! "
This month we recognize KASIE UNERTL for her accomplishment and dedication to fitness, motherhood and life! Our Brea, Fullerton, Placentia and Yorba Linda FIT4MOM Team would like to say, "THANK YOU, KASIE," for being part of our Stroller Strides family!"
1. Who are the members of your family?
My Husband Jeremy, Jakson (2 years old) & Jase (6 months old)
2. What is or was your career?
I am currently a stay at home mom. Before the kiddos arrived I was in marketing/advertising for some of the resorts in Las Vegas.
3. How long have you been a member of FIT4MOM of North Orange County and what has it done for you?
I started in January of 2015 when Jakson was 10 months old. We moved from Vegas to California a few months prior to that. I was raised in Vegas, so the hardest part about moving was leaving my family and my lifelong friends behind. I joined a couple mommy groups on “meet-up” but I always found excuses to not go to the playdates. I finally came across Fit4mom and it seemed like the perfect solution to being able to work out (which was lacking in my life since I had a baby) and possibly meeting other moms. I had no idea the impact it would have on my life. First of all, I love being able to workout with my babies, and I love that they get to see their mom being active. Secondly, stroller strides surrounded me with other ladies who are in the same phase of their life as I am. I have made some truly amazing friends and my boys have too. Jakson wakes up every morning asking if we’re going to stroller strides and if he’s going to see his buddies, he cheers me on in class, and “helps” me with my ab workouts at the end of class. We’re creating some truly priceless memories.
4. What is something that has surprised you about motherhood?
So many things... like the amount of energy a two year can have at 5am, or how infant poop always seems to bypass the diaper and go right up their back.
But REALLY, something that has surprised me is “Mommy Guilt”. I never expected to have these feelings everyday where I question my parenting skills, “Did I play with them enough”, “Were they outside enough today”, “Did I teach them enough today”, “Did I get mad at him too much”…. etc. This is another reason having mommy friends is so important to me. Being able to navigate through motherhood together, whether its failures or triumphs, is so encouraging.
5. Favorite website(s)?
6. List three current obsessions.
"Orange is the New Black", dark chocolate covered almonds from Trader Joes, my espresso machine.
7. What is your child's/children's favorite thing about you or favorite thing that you do?
Jakson has always been a cuddler and I think that he loves when he can just cuddle up next to me and chill out for a minute (a quick minute- he doesn’t sit still very long). And Jase is currently loving any sort of face time he gets. His face lights up when i talk to him, make funny faces, or play peekaboo.
8. Any tips for other moms out there?
It really does take a village! Don’t be afraid to step out of your comfort zone to build new friendships.
